Synthetic fibre lifting slings are constructed of close-woven polyester material which offers a lighter alternative to wire rope and
chain slings. The soft material does not scratch or deface loads while the sling fits the contour of the load providing a safe and
secure grip. The slings are non-conductive and corrosion resistant and are safe for use in flammable environments.
Regular checking of the slings is essential. Constant overloading and lifting of sharp objects can damage the fibres of the sling
resulting in a dramatic reduction in strength and safety. Care must be taken to check for tears and cuts in the sling material. If
tears or cuts occur, replacement of the sling is recommended.
Flat Slings (Webbing Sling) are manufactured from woven polyester with an eye at each end.
Round Slings are manufactured from continuous loops of polyester yarn which is immensely strong and durable.
These are contained by a woven cover sleeve. Both types of the sling are colour coded for easy identification. The colour denotes
the Working Load Limit (WLL) of the sling in a straight lifting application. Using the slings in situations other than a straight vertical
lift, however, causes the Working Load Limit (WLL) of the sling to change. Please refer to the chart below for adjusted limits.
